Food prices not a long-term worry
High prices of pulses, food grains, sugar and vegetables have become a politically sensitive issue over the past several months. A good winter harvest and a drop in international prices may provide some relief in the next few months. However, the big worry in several quarters is whether foods will also stabilize at a higher level as other commodities such as oil, metals, gold etc.
