Niche agricultural production direction: chickpea
The Association "Ukrainian Agribusiness Club" continues a series of researches of promising niche agrarian markets. This publication presents the analysis of the chickpea market. The peak export volume of Turkish peas (chickpea) from Ukraine was in 2014 - 25.4 thous. tons were exported. The increase in the production of this crop in Pakistan and India, as well as high competition on the international market with Australia, Canada and the United States led to the significantly production reduction of chickpeas, and by 2016, export amounted to only 6.1 thous. tons.
