Ukraine reduced import of garlic by half
In 2016 Ukraine imported 3.2 thous. tons of garlic that is 50% less compared to 2015 and is the lowest index for the last 8 years. The main supplier of this product to Ukraine is China whose share in the total structure ranges from 86 to 100% depending on the year. China is the largest player on the global market of garlic. Its share is 80% in the structure of world export.

Ukraine possesses a high potential in exporting processed potato but makes no use of it. February 15, 2017, the VIII Dutch and Ukrainian Agribusiness Potato Forum was held under Fruit. Vegetables. Logistics 2017 International Exhibition Program. Leading Dutch and Ukrainian experts discussed situation on potato market in Ukraine, defined priority directions in developing the area as well as possibilities for Ukrainian producers. During the Forum, a lively exchange of experience on organizing pilot projects on cooperation in Eastern Europe countries and the Netherlands in order to create added value in potato growing was observed.

UCAB AgriSchool Students at Hich-Tech Diary Farm in Zhytomyr Region

How to Turn Wood Waste into Effective Biofuel
Vinnytsia hosted a workshop dedicated to replacing imported energy carriers with local fuel under the EU uP_running program ‘HORIZON 2020’. The event organized by the Association ‘Ukrainian Agribusiness Club’ and Scientific En-gineering Centre ‘Biomass’ promoted discussion of processing wood biomass into thermal energy. The talks concerned profitability, barriers to development, and possibilities to fund such kind of alternative energy projects.
