Milk production in Ukraine in 2015 amounted to 10.7 mln.t.
According to the State Statistics Service, production of milk in Ukraine in 2015 decreased by 4% compared with the previous year and amounted to nearly 10.7 mln.t.
Despite the difficult economic and political situation in the country, agricultural enterprises even managed to increase milk production by 0.8% to 2.67 mln.t, this means that volumes of production were decreased mainly by private households. The number of cows on private farms during the year declined by nearly 4% to 1.67 mln. heads.
The increase in the cost of feed and low purchase prices for milk are the main reasons of the reduction.
