Very low inflation last year - State Statistics Service
The inflation index was the lowest over the years of statistical observations in Ukraine. First Deputy Head of the State Statistics Service Vadym Pishcheiko told a briefing about this, dedicated to results of Ukraine's social and economic development for 2013.
“In 2013, consumer price index (inflation index) (December against December 2012) made up 100.5%, which is the lowest index over the years of statistical observations, except for deflation years of 2002 and 2012,” he noted.
Vadym Pishcheiko also said that the producer price index was 101.7% in 2013. At the same time, in extraction industry prices grew by 5.8%, supply of electric energy, gas, steam and conditioned air - by 5.2%. At the same time, in processing industry reduction of prices by 0.2% took place.
By results of the previous year, the products output in industry reduced by 4.7%. At the same time, production output in such processing sectors as main pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations grew by 11.6% and manufacture of wood products, paper, and in printing - by 2.6%.
