The U. S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) in August improved its forecast for the grain harvest in Ukraine in 2014 by almost 2.5%, to 58.5 million MT.
It is to be admitted, USAD new forecast has also improved the expected total volume of Ukraine’s grain exports in the new marketing year (which has started within July) up to almost 27 and a half million MT. As to the Ukrainian Agriculture Ministry, Ukrainian grain export in the previous marketing year was 32.4 million MT (42% up against the year before); total harvest within the previous year reached a record amount of 63 million MT.
