Ukrros intends to invest USD 7.5mln into plants' modernization
The largest sugar producer in Ukraine, the company Sugar Union Ukrros intends to invest USD 7.5 million or UAH 60 million in 2010 into modernization of seven plants. In particular, the company plans to transfer the plants to using coal as the energy carrier instead of gas. Also, additional investments in the form of credit resources are planned to be sent to purchase of new technical equipment. The planned credit volume is USD 9-10 million.
Replacement of gas by national coal will enable to substantially decrease costs for sugar beet processing that, in its turn, will reduce the prime cost of sugar production by 10-20%.
The OJSC Sugar Union Ukrros was set up in February 2007. It includes seven sugar plants and 22 agricultural enterprises.
