Ukrainian grain traders holding world markets' lead
In 2009, Ukrainian grain traders are holding the lead by sale volumes on global markets, says Vitaliy Hudzenko, board chairman of the Agro-Leader-Ukraine farm complex.
"Ukrainian exporters have reached considerable competitive advantages thanks to the favorable situation on global markets, freight cheapening and hryvnia devaluation, which has made profitability and efficiency of export deliveries grow," he noted.
Ukrainian grain traders managed to take the lead on the markets of Spain, Tunisia, Algeria, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Jordan. Beside that, the markets of Far East, Japan and South Korea, became accessible to them.
"The current breakthrough may open to us other agricultural markets, as well," Hudzenko emphasized.
The domestic suppliers are offering grain at much lower prices than the world's average, difference sometimes reaching USD 20 per ton.
