Ukrainian farmers are against the possible imposition of grain export quotas
Nikholay Markevich, President of the Association of farmers and private landowners of Ukraine, is completely sure that imposition of the export duties for grains is the anti-national action, which will cause reduction of grain production in Ukraine.
The association is definitely against imposition of the export duties. At the same time, the Association supports the quota regime, which guarantees the food security of the country, explained N.Markevich.
At the same time, Ivan Tomich, Chairman of the Union of members of agricultural cooperatives of Ukraine, assures that the possible export duties will not allow to the domestic agricultural producers to develop.
The export duties will not allow to increase production volumes and keep new positions on the world market, according to him.
Vasiliy Stoyanchuk, Executive Director of the Union of agrarian commodities producers, noted that from the beginning of the marketing year Ukraine exported over 5.5 mln tonnes of grains, which is sufficient for fulfillment of trading obligations of Ukraine. In the case of imposition of the export duties instead of quotas, the economic security of Ukraine will face a threat.
