Ukraine's Agrarian Fund accepts applications for forward purchase of 2013 grain until March 7

The Agrarian Fund of Ukraine in the first quarter of 2013 plans to buy 620,000 tonnes of grain of the 2013 harvest and it has announced the collection of bids from farmers until March 7, 2013.

According to the fund's posting on its official Web site, bids for signing forward contracts will be accepted by its regional departments.

The Agrarian Fund plans to buy bread wheat, rye and third class barley.

The fund said that only agricultural producers have the right to participate in the forward purchase program. The minimum batch of wheat totals 2,000 tonnes, that for rye – 500 tonnes and barley – 1,000 tonnes.

Earlier the fund said that it plans to buy 500,000 tonnes of grain of the 2013 harvest in February-March 2013. In autumn 2012, the Agrarian Fund bought grain of the 2013 harvest. The fund contracted 500,000 tonnes.

As reported, the Agrarian Fund was established by government order No. 543 of July 6, 2005. It is an authorized state agency for the implementation of pricing policy in the agricultural sector, and is managed by the Agricultural Policy and Food Ministry.
