Ukraine/Belarus: Obolon and Slavutich resume beer shipments
The Ukrainian brewing companies Obolon and Slavutich Carlsberg Group resume their products supplies to the Belarusian market. The shipments stopped in August due to the problems of the distributor, the company Aramis i K. Obolon signed a contract with another distribution company. The first batch of products has already been shipped to retail stores, but the previous volumes are not hit yet. The producer estimates probable losses caused by the interruption in supplies at USD 1mn (EUR 678,506.02). The company Slavutich has also signed an agreement with another distributor. It will resume shipments in early November. As of 2009, exports to Belarus will be 15% less than originally planned. Obolon and Slavutich Carlsberg Group account for 90% of all exports of Ukrainian beer to the Belarusian market.
