Ukraine: Verkhovna Rada approved in principle the draft law on auction sales of the export quotas
On April 7, 2011, at the plenary session the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine totally approved the draft law #8324 about auction sales of the export quotas for grains (“On making of amendments to several laws of Ukraine concerning the State support of development of the agriculture”) with some amendments in accordance with findings in the second parliament reading.
264 people's deputies voted for the reporting decision. The deputies brought changes to the document, which specified that financial resources received from auction sales of the grain export quotas to be directed to organization of the sowing works of buckwheat (30%), and other grains (70%). As a reminder, the draft law proposes to impose licensing of export trading of grains and by-products, and allow to the Cabinet of Ministers to sell the quotas at auction trades. The document arranges that the financial resources received from selling of the quotas to be provided for realization of the state support of the agricultural industry. The law comes into force from the day of the official publication and acts till July 1, 2011.
