Ukraine to produce nearly 9 mln tonnes of the main oilseeds
According to the current forecasts of the association Ukroliaprom, in 2010, the potential of production of the main oilseed crops (sunflower, rapeseed, soybean) in Ukraine totals nearly 9 mln tonnes, declared Stepan Kapshuk, the general director of the association, on April 22.
Taking into the account the expected growth of the basic capacities of oilseed processing industry in Ukraine to the level of 9.2 mln tonnes per year in 2010, Ukraine will be able to process the complete volumes of oilseeds at the domestic enterprises. The association also forecasts the growth of oilseed processing capacities to the level of 10 mln tonnes in 2011, at the expense of reconstruction and launching of new enterprises.
According to estimations of the association Ukroliaprom, as of January 1, 2010, the general oilseed processing capacities in Ukraine totaled 8.7 mln tonnes per year.
