Distribution of the export quotas for exports of 2 mln tonnes of maize from Ukraine in the second quarter of 2011 will take place at the auction, declared Nikholay Prysiazhnyuk, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, on March 31.
According to him, on April 5, the Government will carry over the draft law on realization of the open auctions for consideration, the financial funds received during the auction process will be used for re-equipment of the grain industry.
As a reminder, at the beginning of October 2010 the Government of Ukraine imposed the regime of grain export quotas. To date, the regime was prolonged till the end of MY.
In the autumn 2010, the Government planned to realize the quotas distribution through the procedure of auctions, on order to prevent corruption, but the Ukrainian Parliament did not accept the required draft laws. During the time period, the Government distributed grain quotas twice with the method, which caused essential criticizing of the market participants, because many companies failed to receive the required documentation.
