Ukraine: sowings of some crops damaged by frost
According to the polling if agricultural producers provided by specialists of IA APK-Inform, Zaporozhye oblast of Ukraine faced the damage of the part of spring and winter crops sowings due to the night frosts, observed in recent days.
Many farmers declared about perishing of mustard sowings, which should be completely reseeded. We also received reports about damages of winter rapeseed (by 30-40%) and spring barley (nearly 50%) sowings. In single cases, sprouts of maize and spring wheat also received damages.
At the same time, many farmers consider that the damaged crops would be subjected to various illnesses and the yield indices would lower on such areas.
We also have information about damages of the part of sowings of winter and spring crops in several regions of Dnepropetrovsk, Lugansk, Odessa oblasts and the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, but it is too early to judge about the damage level at the current moment, according to agricultural producers.
