Ukraine produced over 47 mln tonnes of grains
As of October 24, 2011, Ukraine produced 47.8 mln tonnes of grains, reported the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.
According to the announcement, agrarians harvested grains and leguminous crops throughout the areas of 13.9 mln ha, or 90% of the forecast. The average yield of these crops in the country totaled 34.4 c/ha against 27.7 c/ha last year.
Agrarians harvested 12.4 mln tonnes of maize throughout 2.18 mln ha (61% of the forecast). The average yield totaled 56.9 c/ha, as opposed to 43.8 c/ha in 2010.
Agrarians harvested buckwheat throughout 275 thsd ha (98% of the forecast). The production volumes totaled 309 thsd tonnes with the average yield of 11.3 c/ha against 8.2 c/ha last year.
Ukraine harvested millet throughout 152 thsd ha (99% of the forecast), and produced 291 thsd tonnes with the average yield of 19.1 c/ha (in 2010 - 15.3 c/ha).
As of October 24, Ukraine also produced 8.23 mln tonnes of sunflower seed throughout the areas of 4.4 mln ha (96%). The average yield totaled 18.6 c/ha, as opposed to 16 c/ha in 2010.
Ukrainian agrarians harvested soybean throughout 902 thsd ha (82%), and produced 1.84 mln tonnes with the yield of 20 c/ha (in 2010 - 15.6 c/ha).
