Ukraine: Ministry of Agrarian Policy is actively working on foundation of the Black Sea Mercantile Exchange – Prysiazhnyuk
The Ministry of Agrarian Policy Ukraine is actively working on foundation of the Black Sea Mercantile Exchange, stated Nikolai Prysiazhnyuk, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, speaking at the II International Black Sea Economic Forum, which opened on October 7 in Livadia Palace (Yalta).
Such move will give impetus for development of the grain market in the Black Sea region and attract investment in grain business. The segment of the infrastructure will be beneficial for all countries-members, stressed N.Prysiazhnyuk.
He noted that the Ukrainian Government is well aware that the vocation of Ukraine as the agricultural country is to ensure own food security, to be absolutely independent from imports of agricultural products, on the one hand. And on the other - Ukraine needs to increase export potential and make significant contribution to keeping of the food requirements of growing population in the world.
According to the head of the Ministry, Ukraine has truly priceless wealth: a convenient geographical position, favorable natural and climatic conditions, skilled labor force, the world largest area of highly productive black soil - chernozem, which is the solid foundation for sustainable development of highly productive agricultural industry.
N.Prysiazhnyuk noted that completion of the land reform is the strategic objective in the sphere, since only under the reporting condition, the agrarian sector of Ukraine in 2015 will be able to significantly increase production of agricultural commodities, reach the new level, ensure social development of the Ukrainian rural area.
