Ukraine, Kazakhstan presidents discuss prospects for bilateral relations
The presidents of Ukraine and Kazakhstan, Viktor Yanukovych and Nursultan Nazarbayev, have discussed by phone the prospects for strengthening bilateral relations, the press service of the Ukrainian president reported on Thursday.
In particular, the sides discussed the expansion of trade and economic cooperation and joint action on overcoming the effects of the global financial and economic crisis.
The two leaders also spoke about preparations for Nazarbayev's official visit to Ukraine, which is scheduled for September 2010.
Yanukovych and Nazarbayev also paid attention to issues related to the holding of an OSCE summit in Astana on December 1-2, 2010.
Yanukovych said that Ukraine actively supported this initiative.
Kazakhstan currently holds the presidency of the OSCE.
