Ukraine: issues of imposition of the export quotas and export duties on grains are not currently considered – Ministry of Agrarian Policy
The issues of imposition of the export quotas on grains in Ukraine, together with the export duties are not currently being considered in the Government, declared Sergey Kvasha, Director of the department of the agrarian market development of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, on June 24 at the conference Grain Forum - 2011 in Yalta.
According to him, if due to the active export trading next season, there is a threat of food security, the Ministry can come back to the issues.
However, most likely, it will not go up until November and December of 2011, the official said.
S.Kvasha also reported that the Ministry of Agrarian Policy initially opposed imposition of the export duties, as the Ministry believes that they will harm the market. According to him, the Ministry of Finance was the main initiator of imposition of the duties with regard to filling the need of the state budget.
As a reminder, previously, Borys Kolesnikov, Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine, Minister of Infrastructure, said that in 2011 in Ukraine there will be no quotas on the sale of grains.
