Ukraine increased agricultural products output by 19.1%
In April, 2009, the growth of agricultural production in Ukraine totaled 19.1% compared to the previous month, declared Julia Tymoshenko, the Prime Minister of Ukraine, on May 13.
On March, the growth totaled 14.4% compared to February indices. Agricultural production is the only economics industry, providing positive results, according to her.
Also, during the four months of 2009, Ukraine showed the increasing results in the industry compared to the same period of 2008.
Despite the crisis, in the current year, Ukraine increased spring grains and leguminous plants sowing areas from 6.62 mln ha in the previous year to 6.82 mln ha, according to the data of the government.
