Ukraine: in near future, the Agrarian Fund to purchase grains without following the tender procedure
In 2011/12 MY the State Enterprise "State Food and Grain Corporation of Ukraine" plans to update the mechanism of forward purchases, stated Andrew Druzyaka, representative of the Corporation during the Analytical forum in Kiev on July 14.
According to him, through the reporting measures the company plans to attract small- and medium-scale companies for the further cooperation, to restore confidence in government purchases and engage traders in the process.
He reminded that at the present time, the Government put over 5 bln UAH for grain purchases to the Agrarian Fund. The purchasing plan totals 3 mln tonnes of grains.
A.Druzyaka also said that in the nearest future the Agrarian Fund will purchase grains without rather long-term tender procedures. Besides, in the current season the Agrarian Fund will work without any intermediaries. In particular, the representative of State Food and Grain Corporation of Ukraine noted that KhlebInvestBud will not work on the exchange on realization of the Agrarian Fund purchases.
The expert also said that one of the priorities of the Corporation is development of the direction of flour exports. The Corporation plans modernization of 5 centers of grain production for this purpose.
The company plans to explore grain markets in Africa, as well as those markets where Ukrainian flour can compete with Russian and Turkish products.
