Ukraine: in July the stevedoring company Avlita exported 114.6 thsd tonnes of grains
In July 2011, the stevedoring company Avlita shipped 114.6 thsd tonnes of grains for exports at its grain terminal, according to the press service of the company. The shipped volume formed 30% of the general volume of grains exported through the Ukrainian ports (380 thsd tonnes).
In particular, last month the terminal processed three vessel with grain cargoes, and loaded 58.6 thsd tonnes of wheat and 56 thsd tonnes of barley to the vessels.
Despite the good indices of grain shipment compared to other ports due to imposition of export duties, cancellation of the VAT refund to grain exporters, and expectations of grain producers for increasing of the purchasing prices for the products, the rates of grain exports were low. The company expects for increasing of supplies of contracted grains to the loading complex, because the available capacities allow shipping 385 thsd tonnes per month, said Sergei Posokhov, Deputy General Director of JSC Stevedoring company Avlita.
JSC Stevedoring company Avlita has two deep-sea berths in the all year round ice-free water of the Sevastopol bay. The specialization - shipment of steel products and grains. The capacities of the company allow shipping cargoes from all forms of transport to marine transport. The general annual carrying capacity of the complex is 5.5 mln tonnes, including 2 mln tonnes for steel cargoes and 3.5 mln tonnes - grains. The company operates the grain terminal with capacity of 170 thsd tonnes of simultaneous storage. The loading facilities include 15 cranes.
System Capital Management (SCM) Ltd. owns 100% of shares of JSC Stevedoring company Avlita.
