Ukraine: in February 2010, Illichevsk seaport increased vegetable oils shipment by 76.8%
In February 2010, the state enterprise Sea Commercial Port of Illichivsk (Odessa oblast, Ukraine) increased shipment volumes of vegetable oils by 76.8% compared to the same period of 2009, declared the press-cutting service of the company.
According to the announcement, during two months of 2010, the port processed 3.06 mln tonnes of cargoes, an increase of 18% compared to the same period of the previous year. In February 2010, cargo turnover of the port grew by 15.4% and totaled 1.59 mln tonnes, including general cargoes processing – up 5%, bulk cargoes processing – up 15%, fluid cargoes processing – up 78%.
The following cargoes showed the highest rates of growth compared to the same month of 2009: meal (up 144.4% compared to February 2009).
The Sea Commercial Port of Illichivsk is one of four largest Ukrainian ports. The shipment capacities of the port are able to process over 30 mln tonnes of cargoes per year.
