Ukraine: Illichevsk port shipped over 7 mln tons of cargoes
In January-May period of 2009, Illichevsk sea trading port (Odessa oblast) processed 7.14 mln tons of cargoes, declared the press-cutting service of the port.
According to the data of the port, in May cargo flow of the enterprise decreased by 2.9% compared to the previous year – to 1.48 mln tons. At the same time, general cargoes shipment decreased by 41.5%, bulk cargoes shipment increased by 47.7%, fluid cargoes – by 1.9 times.
In May, 2009, the following cargoes showed the highest rates of growth compared to the same period of 2008: oil (up 272%), petroleum (up 95%), grains (up 142%) and ore (up 26%).
Illichevsk sea trading port enters the group of four largest Ukrainian ports. The enterprises owns producing capacities for shipment of nearly 30 mln tons of cargoes per year. In 2008, the port increased cargo flow by 18% compared to 2007 – to 18.9 mln tons.
