Ukraine: Illichevsk port decreased cargo turnover by 8.3%
During ten months of 2009, Illichevsk sea trading port (Odessa oblast, Ukraine) increased own cargo shipment plan by 1.4%, in October – by 8.2%. In January-October period of 2009, the general cargo turnover totaled 13.84 mln tonnes, in October – 1.51 mln tonnes, declared the press-cutting service of the port.
In October 2009, cargo flow of the port decreased by 8.3% compared to the same month of the previous year, including general cargoes shipment – by 32.2%, bulk cargoes shipment grew by 21.4%, fluid cargoes – by 3.1%.
The following cargoes showed the highest rates of growth compared to the same month of 2008: sunflower oil (up 14.6%), grains (up 24.5%), meals (up 27%), metals (up 3.4%) and sulfur (up 72.3%).
Illichevsk sea trading port enters the group of four largest Ukrainian ports. The enterprises owns producing capacities for shipment of nearly 30 mln tonnes of cargoes per year. In 2008, the port increased cargo flow by 18% compared to 2007 – to 18.9 mln tonnes.
