Ukraine harvests almost 41mln tons of grain
By the beginning of the October second ten-day period Ukraine threshed almost 41 million tons of grain with the average crop capacity of 28.8 centners/ha, the Agricultural Policy Ministry press service informed.
The corn harvest made up 2.72 million tons, buckwheat - 218 thousand tons, millet - 139 thousand tons.
Almost 5 million tons of sunflower seeds were harvested with the crop capacity of 15.2 centners/ha and 4 million tons of sugar beet.
The grain yield, according to the Agricultural Policy Ministry, will make up about 45 million tons against the last year's 53.3 million tons.
