Ukraine harvests almost 34mln tons of grain
As of October 1, 2010, Ukraine harvested 33.9 million tons of grain, 12.8% less against the same date of 2009, the State Statistics Committee informed.
Grain crops and leguminous cultures were gathered from 13.15 million ha with average crop capacity of 25.8 centners/ha.
Wheat milling by October 1 made up 17.5 million tons, 19.3% less against the previous year, barley- 8.87 million tons (by 19% less).
At the same time, corn yield is 2.3 fold up against the previous year and makes up 5.5 million tons.
In addition, farmers gathered almost 4.97 million tons of sugar beet, 2.3 fold up against the same period of the previous year and 5 million tons of sunflower seeds (31.4% up).
