Ukraine: farmers intend to continue the fight against imposition of grain export duties
Ukrainian agricultural producers intend to continue the fight against imposition of the custom duties for grain exports from the country, reported the Association of farmers and private landowners of Ukraine.
As a reminder, agrarians appealed to the President of Ukraine to veto the draft law on imposition of the customs duties, because imposition of export taxes will proportionally reduce the income of farmers, but the President did not listen to these wishes. On June 10, the President signed the law “On making of amendments to the Tax Codex of Ukraine and adoption of tariffs of the export duties for several varieties of grains”, adopted by the Parliament on May 19, which set 9-14% export duties on barley, wheat and maize since July 1.
According to Nikolai Mirkevich, President of the Association of farmers and private landowners of Ukraine, agrarians still continue to struggle, and plan to develop the strategy for action.
