Ukraine: Crimea increased grain sales by 5.3%
During January-September of 2009, agricultural enterprises of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea (Ukraine) sold 551.6 thsd tonnes of grains, an increase of 5.3% compared to the same period of the previous year, declared the Main department of statistics of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
According to the announcement, wheat sale volumes totaled 341.4 thsd tonnes, barley – 182.3 thsd tonnes. Besides, agricultural enterprises sold 12.6 thsd tonnes of sunflower seed.
During January-September of 2009, the average purchasing price of grains, offered by the Crimean enterprises, dealing with gain storing and processing, to commodity producers, totaled 924 UAH/t, including wheat – 856.8 UAH/t (in January-September of 2008 – 978.5 UAH/t and 999.2 UAH/t respectively).
As a reminder, in January-August period of 2009, agricultural enterprises of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea sold 457.6 thsd tonnes of grains, an increase of 7.6% compared to the same period of the previous year.
