Ukraine: Crimea completed the harvesting campaign of early grains
Agrarians of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea (Ukraine) completed the harvesting campaign of early grains, declared the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of the Crimea.
According to the announcement, the region produced 1.3 mln tonnes of grains, down almost 300 thsd tonnes compared to the index of 2009. Bad weather conditions, including heavy rains and hails caused the losses.
Crimean agrarians harvested grains throughout the areas of 637.5 thsd ha, the average yield totaled 20.5 c;/ha.
Crimean agricultural enterprises produced 798 thsd tonnes of winter wheat and nearly 402 thsd tonnes of winter barley.
As a reminder, agrarians started harvesting works on June 15, and planned to produce 1.6 mln tonnes of grains till July 20, but the weather conditions slowed down harvesting work rates.
