Ukraine completed the harvesting campaign of early grains and leguminous crops. The production volumes totaled 34.2 mln tonnes with the average yield of 30.6 c/ha (an increase of 24% compared to 2010), declared Nikolai Prysiazhnyuk, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, on September 8.
According to the Ministry, the highest grain harvests were produced in Odessa oblast - 2.7 mln tonnes, Vinnytsia oblast - 2.4 mln tonnes, Kherson oblast - nearly 2.3 mln tonnes, Nikolaev and Kharkov oblasts - 2.2 mln tonnes each, Zaporizhia and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts - 2.1 mln tonnes each, Donetsk oblast - 1.9 mln tonnes, the Autonomous Republic of Crimea - 1.8 mln tonnes, Cherkasy oblast - 1.4 mln tonnes.
To date agrarians continue harvesting late groats, grains and industrial crops, sunflower, soybean, and others. According to data of regions, in 2011 the general grain production is expected at the level of nearly 50 mln tonnes (up 11 mln tonnes compared to last year), oilseeds - 10.7 mln tonnes (up 0.7 mln tonnes).
