Ukraine: as of August 1, grain stocks grew by 1% compared to last year – State Statistics Service
As of August 1, 2012, agricultural enterprises (except of small ones), and grain storage and processing enterprises in Ukraine stocked 20.2 mln tonnes of grains (including 13.2 mln tonnes of wheat, 4 mln tonnes of barley, 1.7 mln tonnes of maize, 0.4 mln tonnes of rye), an increase of 1% compared to the same date in 2011, reported the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.
Directly agrarian companies stored 12.2 mln tonnes of grains (down 10%), including 7.6 mln tonnes of wheat, 2.6 mln tonnes of barley, 0.9 mln tonnes of maize, 0.2 mln tonnes of rye.
Grain storage and processing enterprises stored 8 mln tonnes of grains (up 25%), including directly grain storage enterprises – 5.9 mln tonnes (up 21%).
Besides, sunflower seeds storing volumes totaled 0.6 mln tonnes (up 55% compared to August 1, 2011). At the same time, directly agrarian enterprises (except of the small ones) stored 0.2 mln tonnes (up 42%). The enterprises, dealing with sunflower storing and processing - 0.4 mln tonnes of the oilseed (up 63% compared to the previous year).
