Ukraine among three world leaders on dynamics of agricultural production growth
Ukraine, Brazil and Russia are the world leaders in terms of the dynamics of the growth of agricultural production, according to a report by the United Nations on agricultural development and food security, the UN News Center has reported.
Brazil is seeing the world's most dynamic development of the agricultural sector. By 2019, growth in this industry will total 40% compared to a period of 2007-2009.
Russia and Ukraine also joined the list of the world's three leaders on the dynamics of agricultural production growth. The document says that in Russia and Ukraine, growth in agricultural production in 2019 will amount to 26% and 29% respectively, if this sector is supported by the two governments.
Over the same period, the growth of agricultural production in the United States and Canada is projected at 10-15%, while the overall volume of agricultural production in 27 member states of the European Union by 2019 will grow by less than 4%.
The report notes that Western Europe is seeing the stagnation of food production.
