Ukraine aims to join premier league of agricultural producers, presidential official says
Ukraine has set the goal of joining the top 5-7 developed nations that lead in food production, said Serhiy Liovochkin, the Ukrainian presidential administration's head.
"Our aim is to become one of the [top] five to seven nations producing agricultural commodities... We'll be working on that," he told reporters in New York on Wednesday.
Addressing the plenary meeting of the 65th session of the UN General Assembly in New York lately, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych said that Ukraine, with its powerful agricultural potential, could become an important element of the UN's World Food Program.
