Ukraine: agrarians harvested grains throughout over 80% of the areas - N.Prysiazhnyuk
As of July 27, Ukrainian agrarians produced 27.2 mln tonnes of grains with the average yield of 29.5 c/ha. The certified grain storehouses already received over 5 mln tonnes of grains, declared Nikholai Prysiazhnyuk, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, on July 28.
According to the Head of the Ministry, agrarians harvested grains and leguminous plants throughout the areas of 9.2 mln ha, or 81% of the forecast. Despite the adverse weather conditions, compared to previous years, Ukrainian farmers provide the harvesting works in more organized rates. To date, Kherson and Nikolayev oblasts completely finished harvesting of winter grains.
In 2011 Ukraine plans to produce 46 mln tonnes of grains and leguminous crops, up 7 mln tonnes compared to last year.
