Ukraine. Agrarian fund to purchase 150,000 tons of sugar to state reserves
The Agriculture Ministry expects to purchase to the Agrarian Fund 100-150,000 tons of sugar from the beet of the new yield, Deputy Agriculture Minister Ivan Demchak told journalists.
"100-150,000 tons is a norm that would allow us to come to ensure retail sail," Demchak has said.
According to him, the first tend on the sugar purchase slated for October 5 failed to take place since there was only one participant. Next tender is planned for October 27, 2010.
The Deputy Minister noted that earlier the Agrarian Fund purchased products at the Agrarian Exchange, but now it has no such possibility.
The Agriculture Ministry cut its forecast as to sugar production in 2010 by 5% tо 2 million tons against the earlier forecasted 2.1-2.2 million tons.
