Ukraine: Agrarian Fund to contract 200 thsd tonnes of new crop grains
From the beginning of the current marketing year (since July 1, 2010), the Agrarian Fund of Ukraine has contracted nearly 200 thsd tonnes of new crop grains, announced Alexander Lavrinchuk, the Deputy Head of the Fund.
The Agrarian Fund has already paid the less volume (less than 200 thsd tonnes), and to date grain volume stocks of the Fund total over 1 mln tonnes, stated he on August 20. A.Lavrinchuk added that as of to date, the Fund has all the necessary financial resources for grain purchasing.
A.Lavrinchuk stated that the current grain stocks of the Fund are enough for realization of the necessary interventions on flour market by the Fund, directed to supporting of the constant prices for mass bread production.
A.Lavrinchuk added that according to the law standards, the Agrarian Fund should form grain stocks which volumes will total nearly 1.2 mln tonnes, or about 20% from the general milling grain demand on the Ukrainian market.
However, in the current year according to the President and the Prime-Minister order, the Agrarian Fund plans to increase own purchasing volumes to 5 mln tonnes of grains, noted the Deputy Head of the Agrarian Fund.
While talking about the price situation on the market, A.Lavrinchuk announced that many crops prices faced the decrease without any additional Governmental intervention. According to him, the Agrarian Fund purchases grains at the exchange prices, which total: 1-grade wheat – 1860 UAH/t, 2-grade wheat – 1649 UAH/t, 3-grade wheat – 1512 UAH/t, 4-grade wheat – 1380 UAH/t, 5-grade wheat – 1341 UAH/t.
