After cancellation of the export duties on wheat and maize by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on October 7, 2011, grain exporters forecast changes of trading and purchasing activity on the market.
According to representatives of the companies polled by APK-Inform Agency, the export market will significantly revive, and increase prices for these crops.
According to traders, the price of feed maize can increase by 25-30 USD/t. The growth of prices for milling and feed wheat is likely to total 20-25 USD/t.
Experts of the Agency note that Ukrainian traders accepted the news with optimism and hope for the further stabilization of trading and purchasing activity on the market.
We should note that according to the balance sheet of analysts of APK-Inform Agency, the potential for exports of wheat and maize in Ukraine in 2011/12 MY enables to painless export 9 and 12.5 mln tonnes of the grains respectively, for the food security of the country.
At the same time, the production volumes of barley and total offer of the grain in the current season show fairly low level (8.7 mln tonnes). The export potential of the crop totals 2.7 mln tonnes only, which is the valid reason for extension of the customs duty on barley.
