Ukraine: 92% of winter crops were in good and satisfactory condition - Ministry of Agrarian Policy
As of December 14, 2012, the condition of 92% of winter crops areas in Ukraine was estimated as good and satisfactory, declared the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine on December 17.
According to the announcement, the general areas of these crops totals 7.1 mln ha.
As of the reporting date, the condition of another 8% of winter crops (0.63 mln ha) was estimated as weak and thinned.
The Ministry also noted that as of December 14, sprouts of winter crops were obtained throughout the areas of 7.74 mln ha, or nearly 95% of the general planted areas.
In particular, winter wheat sprouts appeared throughout 96% of the areas, with the good and satisfactory condition of 92% of the grain areas.
Sprouts of winter rapeseed areas were obtained throughout 96% of the areas, and 94% of them were in good and satisfactory condition.
