Terra Food to offer new cheese and dairy products
In early summer 2009 the company Terra Food starts producing new cheese in the premium price segment. In autumn new dairy and fermented milk products for children up to three years old are to appear in the company's assortment. Vadim Chagarovsky, Chairman of the board of directors of the company announces that at present, only imported products are available in the premium segment in the Ukrainian cheese market. Terra food's cheese will be 30% cheaper. Due to this fact the company plans to control 30-40% of the segment. The market for finished dairy and fermented milk products for children up to three years old is scarcely developed in Ukraine. Two existing manufacturers cannot completely satisfy the existing demand. So the company decided to operate in the niche.
Terra Food has a cattle-breeding complex in the Vinnitsa region and intends to expand own dairy herd. Chagorovsky considers that the next step that is to made by Ukrainian milk-processing enterprises is vertical integration of production. The company also intends to export its goods to Russia. A part of products (butter, spread, non-fat powder milk under the trademark Tulchinka) is made in Russia at own enterprise in the Belgorod region (Centre).
