Taras Vysotskyi says the harmonization of standards is necessary for the development of our machine-building
Today, in the town of Kropyvnytskyi, the International Agro-Industrial Exhibition “AgroExpo-2017” is taking place. Within the framework of the business program of events, the seminar “European model of admission to the market of agricultural machinery” was held, which examined issues of export-import operations and registration of agricultural machinery. The moderator and speaker of the event was Taras Vysotskyi, General Director of the Association “Ukrainian Agribusiness Club”. In his speech, he detailed the issues on the approval of the rules for agricultural machinery registration in Ukraine, as the process of discussing and implementing the requirements of European legislation in this area is now underway.
“As part of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement, Ukraine has a unique chance to apply the international approaches and standards in all areas of the economy, including the registration of agricultural machinery. As our country is a significant player in the international market and a major importer of agricultural technology, our requirements for the standards of technology must protect the agrarian sector in matters related to user safety and environmental preservation. On the other hand, it should be remembered that Ukraine has maintained a significant potential for the development of domestic engineering industry, and harmonization of standards in the long run should allow domestic machine builders to export their achievements abroad. It is extremely important that the procedures which we will introduce 100% comply with the European one. Only under such conditions they will be adequately perceived by the market, there will be no questions regarding their transparency or lobbying of someone's interests. This is necessary in order to enable our agricultural machinery in the future to be present on the European market. Today we have a chance to do everything right,” - commented Taras Vysotskyi.
