Sugar to rise in price to USD 685.72 per ton until end of 2009
Sugar has risen in price from UAH 2,950 (EUR 259.85 USD 374.61) to UAH 5,000-5,060 per ton in Ukraine since the beginning of 2009. Experts and manufacturers suppose that wholesale and factory prices of sugar may advance 6-8% more, to UAH 5,300-5,400 per ton in Ukraine by the end of 2009 because of an increase of prices in the world market and the expected sugar deficit in the local market.
