State Statistics Committee: Sept 1 buckwheat crop totaled 53,300 MT
As of Sept 01/09, agrarians have harvested 53,300 MT buckwheat, down 46.2% against Sept 01/08, reported State Statistics Committee.
As to Committee, buckwheat has been harvested at 55,800 ha (down 35.2% as of Sept 01/08).
Reportedly, this year buckwheat average yield is 9,5 metric centners per ha (down 2 metric centners per ha against last year similar).
As to Agro Perspective earlier report, as of Jul 31/09, agrarians harvested 100 MT buckwheat (down 83.1% as of Jul 31/08).
As to Agro Perspective, 2008 buckwheat crop totaled 240,600 MT (in terms of weight after additional processing), up 23,200 MT (+ 10.7%) against 2007.
2007 buckwheat crop totaled 217,400 MT (in terms of weight after additional processing), down 11,900 MT (- 5.2%) against 2006.
