The Russian Union of Milling and Groats Enterprises supports the decision of the Government of the Russian Federation on imposition of the temporary grain export ban from the territory of the Russian Federation, stated the letter of the Union to Viktor Zubkov, the first Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation.

During the droughts terms and essential grains shortage, such measures will allow to provide the food and feed aims of the country with own-produced grain volumes, and return back high-quality North Caucasus wheat from export direction to the milling enterprises of the country, stated the letter.

At the same time, the range of milling and groats enterprises, especially from the Siberian region, which during the last 10 years were developing the foreign flour and groats markets with large difficulties, and which last year exported nearly 279 thsd tonnes of flour to Mongolia, Afghanistan and Tajikistan, will face the essential losses from flour and groats export ban imposition.

According to the document, the exporters from Kazakhstan will take their place immediately. It will be almost impossible for the Russian commodity producers to come back to these markets, noted the letter.

Taking into account all above stated facts, and due to the fact that the country will harvest sufficient volumes of milling wheat, and there is the tensely feed balance provision in the country, the Russian Union of the Millers asks to integrate the correctives to the Government Decree of the Russian Federation dd. August 5, 2010 # 599 “On imposition of the temporary ban for exports of several varieties of agricultural commodities from the territory of the Russian Federation”, where they ask to add wheat bran to the list of banned products, and consider the possibility of canceling the decision about flour and groats export ban for enterprises of the Siberian Federal District.
