Russian grain producers disliked the export duties for grains

The National Union of Grain Producers of Russia opposed the further imposition of export duties for grains. As Pavel Skurikhin, President of the Union, Chairman of the board of directors of SAHO, declared, grain producers can not relate positively to the export duties. The measure can only support livestock breeders, who already have good conditions.

According to P.Skurikhin, restoration of export trading will not have significant impact on inflation. That is why, the concerns about possible rise in price of bread in connection with opening of exports from July 1, are unreasonable, since the component of grains in the cost of bread does not exceed 20-25%.

P.Skurikhin believes that none of the grain producers, except of the Southern regions, will not be able to earn in grain export operations. Agricultural producers can earn if they are able to hold the grain volumes until the price rises to the level that ensures the normal profitability. But to date, the majority of grain producers are forced to sell the new crop at low prices.

The Union is convinced that the decision of the Government of the Russian Federation to open the export trading from July 1 led to the increase in wheat prices.

Prices for 3-, 4- and 5-grade wheat in the South and the North Caucasus in recent time increased by nearly 500-800 RUR/t. The same trend is reported in the Central and Volga regions, where the increase was 150-200 RUR/t, in the Siberia - 50-100 RUR/t.
