Russian GDP Will Probably Grow 6.7% This Quarter, RenCap Says
Russia’s economy will probably expand an annual 6.7 percent in the first quarter, Renaissance Capital said.
The Moscow-based investment bank raised its quarterly forecast of 6.4 percent given Dec. 10 after new statistics were released, including industrial output for November and some market indicators for December.
The estimate, which aims to be more relevant than official forecasts, is based on an index of economic activity that RenCap developed with Russia’s New Economic School and measures 108 weighted components, the company said earlier.
