Russian Federation to lose some part of grain harvest
In the current year, the cold spring in Russia will probably cause the loss of some part of the harvest of grains and other crops, and even lower the quality index, according to experts.
The majority of regions detain filed works due to the cold weather conditions. And the regions with active field works suffered from returned frosts. Such temperature drops will negatively influence grain quality and probably cause the reduction of milling grains share from the general harvest, declared Alexander Korbut, the Vice-President of Russian Grain Union.
According to forecasts of the Russian Grain Union, in the current year the croppage of grains in the Russian Federation will total 85-95 mln tons as opposed to 108 mln tons in the previous year.
