The inspectorate of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor, Russia) from June 6 will inspect 32 Ukrainian meat and dairy companies and may permit the export of their products to the Customs Union, Chairman of the State Veterinary and Biosecurity Service of Ukraine Ivan Bisiuk told reporters on Monday.
"Rosselkhoznadzor started its inspections in Ukraine today. Fourteen inspectors will work in Ukraine for 14 days. During this period, they will inspect 32 enterprises [that wish to] export meat and dairy products to the Customs Union," he said.
According to him, four working groups of inspectors are currently operating.
Bisiuk expressed hope that after the checks, the number of Ukrainian companies that can export their produce to the Customs Union will grow.
According to him, currently 63 Ukrainian enterprises export their products to the Customs Union.
