Prysiazhniuk: Ukraine exports about one million tons of grain since July 1
Ukrainian Agricultural Policy and Food Minister Mykola Prysiazhniuk announced this during his working visit to Odesa region on July 27, a UKRINFORM reporter said.
"We need to export at least 1.5 million tons of grain per month in order to maintain our positions on foreign markets and to be able to send the proceeds to the agricultural sector. We see that this year the harvest of grain in the world is falling because of weather conditions," he said.
According to the minister, with the expected grain harvest of 45-46 million tons, domestic consumption in Ukraine is about 28 million tons. Carryover stocks will amount to about 10-10.5 million tons of grain. In this regard, the minister said, Ukraine will be able to maintain its positions on foreign markets.
