Over 911,000 tons of grain threshed in Ukraine
As of July 1, 2010, Ukraine threshed 911,500 tons of grain on an area of nearly 375,000 hectares out of the planned 12.045 million hectares. The average yield of early grain crops is 24.6 centners per hectare, the Ukrainian Agriculture Ministry has reported.
As of July 1, Ukraine threshed 56,000 tons of wheat from 23,900 hectares, with the average yield being 24.5 centners per hectare.
Farmers also harvested 846,000 tons of barley from 345,000 hectares, or 7% of the forecast. The average yield is 24.8 centners per hectare.
The country also threshed 8,600 tons of peas from 5,500 hectares (2% of the forecast), with the average yield being 17.9 centners per hectare.
As of July 1, farmers harvested 125,000 tons of rapeseed from 90,500 hectares (9% of the forecast), with the average yield being 13.8 centners per hectare.
